EndNote is software that enables you to store and manage references, and use these to format citations and bibliographies in documents, in many different styles. The Library helps library recommends and supports students with this program by offering both courses and individual help. Contact your Information Librarian. EndNote X3 is the present supported version. Features are explained on the Endnote site. Endnote 9 help pages are still available. Warning about Office 2010 - Endnote X3 is not compatible with Office 2010. Thomson Reuters (who make Endnote) have released Endnote X4 for Windows which is compatible, but they have not yet made it available to us. it is likely a version will be available by August, but we recommend caution if you depend on Endnote and are thinking of upgrading to Office 2010. Do you need to install Endnote on your own computer? If so, you can download the necessary files here. There is also a cut-down web based version available for use if that better suits your needs. When Endnote installs on your computer, it also installs a substantial manual in PDF format. In Windows, going to Start, Programs, Endnote will let you find and open the manual. EndNote X6 and X7. Endnote is available for installing on campus (see next section) or the files are available to be downloaded to install on your own computer here - you will need your login, and they are large files. Read more here . Once installed check for updates by opening EndNote and going to the Help menu. Choose EndNote Program Updates and use the Wizard to check for updates.
