Using Endnote to organize your information sources

Use the Link to and Insert Object fields under the References menu to keep track of resources.

Link to

  • Providing links to objects (PDFs), pictures (images), and URLS stored elsewhere on your computer
  • These links can refer to any location on your computer and are a useful way of keeping track of online articles you have saved.
  • Once the link is present, selecting that link gets EndNote to automatically starts a Web browser or application (i.e., Acrobat Reader) and presents the linked file for viewing

Insert Object

  • Objects can also be inserted into the individual EndNote library. These objects can also be PDFs
  • In EndNote 9, Each reference can contain only one file attachment or graphic

These two options are found under the References Menu

Later versions of EndNote have enhanced capabilities to organize information for you
