The Library has a subscription that allows UC staff and students to use Endnote EndNote Web. Endnote EndNote Web is a simpler, web-based, version of Endnote EndNote and may suit some users. Entries created in Endnote EndNote Web can be easily moved to EndnoteX3EndNote X3.

Getting started

To start with you need to register with Endnote EndNote Web. Once registered, you will have a login which can be used world-wideworldwide. Note that when you first start Endnote EndNote X3 it will offer you the option to do this, but you do not need to do this then, or ever.

Registration through Web of Knowledge

While an indirect way of registering for Endnote EndNote Web, it is the method recommended by the Endnote EndNote vendors as, to quote: When users register for an EndNote Web account within ISI Web of Knowledge, they will have greater access to institutional library resources than when they register through EndNote on the desktop.

Over half-way down the right-hand navigation bar you will see a heading 'Customize Your Experience'. Click on the Register prompt.

This will enable you to register. The login you set-up will work for both Endnote EndNote Web and the Web of Knowledge (they are provided by the same organization). If you have an existing Web of Knowledge login, then this should also work for Endnote EndNote Web.

Once you have a login you can use the Sign In link to connect. Alternatively, once you have your login you can directly connect to Endnote EndNote Web at https://www.myEndnoteWeb.com

Direct Registration

While this is the obvious method to register for Endnote EndNote Web, it is not the recommended method. We recommend using the "Web of Knowledge" method outlined above.

If you do decide to register directly, you must be on campus as registration will fail otherwise (it is how Endnote EndNote checks you belong to an institution with a subscription to Endnote EndNote Web). Once registered your login will work anywhere.
