Finding and using eBooks

• Most eBooks can be found by a normal search in the Library Catalogue, or via MultiSearch, and are identified with an electronic book icon, for example:
  or

• The easiest way to find eBooks by subject is to search by keyword in MultiSearch and
  • refine your search to "Items with full text online", and
  • limit by the Content Type "Book / eBook."

• If you found the eBook in the catalogue, click the link beside the Web Access heading. If you found it via Multisearch, click on the title or the icon.

• Mostly you will link directly to the PDF version of the eBook. Some eBook suppliers let you preview the resource online for a limited period of time, before giving you the option to create a "loan" or download the book on to specific software on a mobile electronic device. Note however, that this download will be for a limited time, as it is a loan, and not a purchase.

• Some collections of electronic books are so extensive that individual titles are not recorded in the Library catalogue e.g. SourceOECD. Search for titles using the search engines within these collections. For a full list of all eBooks subscribed to by the Library see eBook collections.
